Although both options include a 1-hour company-wide introduction to Function Point, for the most part, we employ a “train the trainer” model. Onsite consulting includes up to 10 participants, and the online option maxes out at 3. There’s a good reason for that: fp.’s agency management software training is unique in that it is highly interactive. Its effectiveness depends on everyone’s participation. It’s a lot easier to ensure everyone understands the project management and time tracking software when you can look them in the face.
For smaller agencies, it’s not such a big deal to put a couple employees in charge of implementing a system. For larger agencies, it’s helpful to disperse the workload. Involving key stakeholders has a ton of other benefits, too. It means everyone – including us – gets the clearest possible picture of what goes on in your business, what works, and what doesn’t.
