Celebrating The Life Of Anthony P. Mikes
Read time: 2 minutes

Earlier this summer Laurie Mikes announced the passing of Anthony P. Mikes, Second Wind’s founder, and Managing Director. I wish to take this opportunity to reflect on the influence Tony has had on myself and Function Point.
Tony was a very inspirational person. His generosity in welcoming fp. into his organization was genuine. His interest was in the success of both his customers and, I believe, our firm. His demeanor was one of constant giving, while personally making you feel very at ease. A very kind man.
If you were lucky enough to see Tony present in Chicago or Florida you know exactly what I’m talking about. I remember him speaking so eloquently of the history of the advertising industry: the players, the pursuits, and the evolution to what we are part of today. It was such a great part of the seminar.
Our VP of Product, Tate Lillies, was instrumental in creating our relationship with Second Wind. In Tate’s words: “I met Tony a few times and found him to be both inspirational and a great source of industry knowledge — I’ve incorporated many of this concepts and ideas into my work at fp. in every role I’ve had here over the years.”
In memoriam of Tony, his family speaks of making a donation to Columbia University, specifically Dr. Lassman’s Brain Tumor Research. Function Point will make a contribution to this research on behalf of all of us at Function Point and our Second Wind clients.
We are so fortunate to have been in Tony’s acquaintance, and we wish the very best to his family.Chris WilsonCEO and President
